Freda Ayisi, midfielder for the Black Queens, is looking forward to the prospect of representing Ghana at the Olympics, emphasizing its significance in showcasing the country's football prowess on the global stage.

Ahead of the Olympic Games third-round second-leg qualifier against Zambia, Ayisi expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to compete in Paris, highlighting the chance it offers to demonstrate Ghana's footballing abilities and elevate the nation's profile in the sport.

"It will be amazing for the team to go for the Olympics because it’s a big opportunity to show the world that Ghana can play football and also put us on the map again," remarked Ayisi, who currently plays for Charlton Athletic.

Reflecting on the team's performance in the first leg, Ayisi acknowledged the disappointment of the loss but remained optimistic about their prospects, attributing the result to the unpredictable nature of football.

"I feel that the team is good, the team is doing well, it wasn't complacency that made us lose in Accra. We are focused, sometimes football can go either way and that’s what happened in the 1st leg," she explained.

When asked about her adaptation to the team's style of play, Ayisi emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in training to synchronize with her teammates.

“I’m adapting and I feel like am doing well especially in training and that is the best way to adapt, just train and work hard with the girls and hope I will be on the same level and we can play football together permanently,” Ayisi affirmed.

The crucial qualifier against Zambia is set for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium in Ndola, where Ayisi and the Black Queens will aim to secure their spot in the Olympics.
