French Prime Minister Manuel Valls will be visiting Ghana on a 4-day visit to strengthen trade ties with Ghana. Manuel Valls has already visited neighbouring country Togo on the first day of the tour which was on Friday 28th October 2016.

Although it is not clear whether he will visit Ghana after Togo, Valls will be touring Cote d'Ivoire as well. The visit is geared towards making up for the neglection of Ghana and afore mentioned countries by France in recent years in the face of  growing competition from China. It also aims at supporting democratic change in Ghana, Togo and Cote d"Ivoire.

"I am moved by a conviction that is growing ... Africa is for us the continent of the future," the French prime minister said.
