Retail fuel prices are expected to rise at the pumps starting tomorrow, July 1, 2025, according to projections by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC).

The chamber forecasts that petrol prices may increase by 2%, diesel by 5%, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by just over 1%. If implemented, this would mark the first upward adjustment in fuel prices since February 2025.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, COMAC Chief Executive Dr. Riverson Oppong noted that the projected increases come despite the suspension of the amended Energy Sector Levy.
"Even before the implementation of the amended Energy Sector Levy which has been suspended, our projections indicate that pump prices may be going up”, he said.

“I can say petrol is likely to go up by 2 percent, LPG may witness a little above 1 percent and Diesel will likely increase by 5 percent. This is after taking all factors into consideration, including NPA price build ups," he said.

COMAC is also calling for a comprehensive review of regulatory frameworks in the petroleum downstream sector to ensure greater operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
