Founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Arthur Kennedy says he can no more recognise President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the President Akufo-Addo Ghanaians knew before the 2016 election is not the same person leading the country as President currently.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV, Dr. Arthur Kennedy opined that President Akufo-Addo has lost his soul, alleging that he sold it for the presidency.
“I believe that President Akufo-Addo has lost his soul. He is not the Nana Addo we all knew and he lost his soul a long time ago but we didn’t know it. He sold his soul for the presidency,” he said.
The comments by Dr. Arthur Kennedy come amid the inaction of government to clamp down on illegal mining, popularly referred to as galamsey.
The Founding member of the NPP is of the view that galamsey is a major threat to the country that must be addressed with urgency.
“Galamsey is an existential threat not because of even what it is doing to us directly. It is the opportunity cost. The idea that we are destroying cocoa farms, which means we will lose revenue there. We will spend more money purifying water which means we spend more there.
“We will lose timber, we will lose our pristine forests and more to the point we will break the bond and scared obligation we owe to pro eternity because we are living in our country as a borrowed resource that we should pass on to our children,” Dr. Arthur Kennedy bemoaned.
