The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced the extension of operational hours at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport, effective Sunday June 1, 2025.
Under the new schedule, Prempeh I International Airport will now remain open until 11:00 p.m., with extended hours running from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tamale International Airport’s operations will be extended from the current 6:00 p.m. closing time to 10:00 p.m.
In a joint public notice, the two aviation bodies stated the GCAA has issued a notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to inform airlines of the new changes. Domestic carriers are being encouraged to increase the frequency of flights to and from both airports in response to the extended hours.
The GCAA and GACL have urged the travelling public to take note of the new operational times and plan accordingly.
The move forms part of broader efforts to improve air travel connectivity and convenience across Ghana, particularly in the Ashanti and northern regions.
