The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the reinstatement of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all pre-tertiary schools across the country.

This directive, issued by President John Dramani Mahama, is aimed at enhancing stakeholder engagement within Ghana’s education system.

In a press release dated Thursday, July 17, GES highlighted that the reinstatement seeks to foster stronger collaboration between parents, teachers, and communities in improving the quality of education for Ghanaian students.

The directive mandates that all Heads of Public Senior High, Technical, and STEM schools immediately implement the reintegration of PTAs.

“The move is aimed at strengthening the collaboration and involvement of parents, communities, and teachers in the delivery of quality education to Ghanaian learners,” the statement read.

GES further indicated that detailed guidelines on the structure, roles, and financial accountability of PTAs will be provided in the coming weeks to promote transparency, consistency, and effective management of these associations across the country.

GES is urging all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and community leaders, to fully support the initiative to ensure its successful and smooth implementation.
