The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and telecommunications giant Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana) have reached an agreement to extend their longstanding sponsorship relationship for the MTN FA Cup for an additional three seasons.

The collaboration between the GFA and MTN began in the 2010-11 season and has seen renewals in 2013, 2017, and 2020.

The MTN FA Cup is a highly anticipated competition that brings together 18 Premier League clubs, 48 Division One League clubs, and 44 Division Two League clubs from the 10 Regional Football Associations, totaling 110 clubs.

The Preliminary stage involves Division One League clubs and Regional Division Two League clubs, with the winners advancing to join the 18 Premier League clubs in the main competition at the Round of 64 stage.

The MTN FA Cup is not only a thrilling tournament but also a prestigious one, with the winner receiving a substantial trophy, cash prizes, and products from MTN.

Additionally, the victorious team qualifies to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup competition, enhancing the significance of the tournament within the broader football landscape.

The extension of this sponsorship deal further solidifies the partnership between the GFA and MTN Ghana, highlighting their commitment to the growth and development of football in the country through this prestigious competition.
