The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken action against Bechem United officials, including Executive Council member Kingsley Osei Bonsu, following their league match against Heart of Lions.

The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was overshadowed by controversy and unsporting behavior.

Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford staged an on-field protest, alleging biased officiating and causing a 20-minute delay by sitting in the middle of the pitch.

Osei Bonsu, along with Francis Addai, Emmanuel Gyasi Atuahene, Gyampa Emmanuel Amoako, Charles Tweneboah-Koduah, Bright Anthony Konadu, and Seth Wire Osei, have all been charged with engaging in unsporting behavior towards match officials. They are required to respond to the charges by Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Furthermore, Bechem United has been charged for failing to ensure the safety of match officials, players, and Heart of Lions officials, as well as for inappropriate behavior by their supporters.

The club also has until Thursday to respond to the charges.

The GFA's swift action underscores its commitment to upholding fairness and integrity in Ghanaian football, ensuring that all stakeholders adhere to the highest standards of conduct on and off the field.
