The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the expiration of its contract with Nora Hauptle, the Head Coach of the Senior National Women’s Football Team, the Black Queens.
In a statement, the GFA expressed gratitude to Hauptle for her two years of dedicated service to the Black Queens and Ghana Women’s Football. During her tenure, her salary and accommodation were entirely funded by the GFA.
Recognizing the impending expiration of her contract on December 31, 2024, the GFA initiated renewal discussions with Hauptle as early as June 2024.
The association proposed an enhanced salary and improved working conditions as part of the new contract. However, despite these efforts, both parties were unable to reach an agreement on the renewal terms.
The GFA has assured stakeholders that a new coach for the Black Queens will be announced in due course.
Hauptle’s contributions to the development of Ghana Women’s Football have been acknowledged, and her departure marks the end of an important chapter for the Black Queens.
The search for her successor is expected to focus on sustaining and building upon the team’s progress.
