The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is considering the appointment of an autonomous body to run the nation's top flight league from the 2020/21 season.

This comes following the dissolution of the Premier League Board (PLB) and replacing it with an interim 7-member Premier League Management Committee on Monday.

The committee which will be chaired by former GFA chairman Alhaji MND Jawula were given a one-year mandate after which the football governing body will consider the appointment of an otonomous body to run the league.

This appointment will be done in consultation with owners of the top flight teams as well as all major stake holders of football in Ghana.

There have been several calls from many quaters to hand over the Ghana Premier League to an otonomous body to run but those calls have often been met with stiff resistance from the previous administration.

Meanwhile the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League has been scheduled for December 28, 2019 with all 18 teams currently undergoing preseason preparations.
