A delegation from the Ghana Football Association have visited the Komfo Anokye hospital to commiserate with members of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who were involved in an accident on Wednesday night.

The delegation led by the Communication director Ibrahim Sanni Daara and Alex Asante the acting general secretary first visited the accident site at Nkawkaw to ascertain the cause of the accident that has left the clubs equipment officer dead.

They team proceeded to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi where some officials and players are receiving medical care.

"The delegation FA delegation met with Kotoko management at the Komfo Anokye Hospital to offer supports after the fatal accident in Nkawkaw, Saani Daara told ghanaguardian.com.

"The GFA and the entire football fraternity is devastated by the sad development.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Kumasi Asante Kotoko, particularly the injured officials and players, who are currently receiving treatment. "

Kotoko were billed to play against arch rival Accra Hearts of oak on Sunday.

There has been calls for the postponement of the week 23 match between the two glamourous club  of the nation.

However, there has been no official response from the professional League Board(PLB) on that.

Kotoko were returning to Kumasi after their match day 22 defeat to with Inter allies in Accra when their bus rammed into a Cargo truck, which was packed with fertiliser.

The vehicle which was parked in the middle of the dark road of Nkawkaw, according to report, was with no warning indicator or sign.

Officials of the Ghana police are investigating the exact cause of the Wednesday night accident.
