In alignment with its Women's Football Strategy, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced efforts to assemble a talented pool of players for the formation of a female National Under-17 team this year.

Recognizing the significance of nurturing talent within this age group, the GFA aims to prevent the loss of a generation of female players at this crucial stage of their growth and development.

Under the guidance of Coach Joe Nana Adarkwah, the selection process has begun, with the screening of the first three batches of potential players totaling 112 individuals.

Screening activities commenced on April 24, 2024, at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

The screening process for the fourth and final batch of players is set to conclude by May 8, 2024.

Those who meet the criteria established by the Technical team will progress to participate in subsequent team-building exercises.

Coach Adarkwah has noted the exceptional quality of players identified thus far, expressing confidence that the upcoming batch of approximately 38 players will also reveal additional highly talented individuals.

Selected players from these screening exercises will undergo further training and development, preparing them for participation in both the developmental teams of the GFA and the national Under-20 female team, the Black Princesses.
