Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), bestowed high praise upon Asamoah Gyan, Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer, during the launch of the All Regional Games initiative spearheaded by the former Black Stars captain.

The event took place on Tuesday in Accra.

As part of Asamoah Gyan's proposed initiative, regional trials are scheduled to take place in June 2024 to identify top athletes in each region.

These athletes will then compete in national championships slated for November 2024.

Expressing his delight at being part of this significant event, President Okraku underscored Asamoah Gyan's remarkable contributions to Ghanaian sports.

"The man who has brought us here (Asamoah Gyan) is a gift to sports in our dear country," remarked President Okraku.

"Asamoah distinguished himself as one of our very best footballers. He achieved unparalleled success in football."

President Okraku further highlighted Gyan's broader impact beyond football, noting his investments in various sporting disciplines, including football and boxing.

"He did not only achieve success; he went beyond that to invest in other sporting disciplines, including but not limited to football and boxing.

I am speaking about what I know! What I do not know about, I daresay, are even more," added the GFA boss.
