Mr. Kurt E.S. Okraku, Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee and President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), convened a significant meeting with the newly established Juvenile Committee in Accra.

The session delved into discussions surrounding policies, guidelines, and strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering Colts (Juvenile) football in Ghana.

President Okraku emphasized the pivotal role of Colts football, highlighting its function as the breeding ground for talent feeding into national age group teams and clubs.

In his address to the Committee, President Okraku articulated his fervent desire for the rapid development of Colts football, recognizing its profound impact on the broader football landscape.

To elevate the standard of Colts football in Ghana, he unveiled a comprehensive sponsorship program. Under this initiative, the GFA will sponsor 300 coaches from Colts clubs annually for the next three years to undertake the License D Coaching Course.

President Okraku underscored the transformative potential of this endeavor, envisaging an improvement in coaching quality at the Colts level, thus positively influencing the standard of play in Colts football matches.

Furthermore, President Okraku disclosed plans to provide media training for District Football Associations and Club Administrators, complementing efforts to enhance Colts football standards.

The meeting also broached additional initiatives, including the registration of Colts players and the provision of free First Aid training.

The overarching objective of the Ghana Football Association is to cultivate essential elements of grassroots football, particularly focusing on coaching and administration.

By extending support to District and Regional Football Associations, the association endeavors to fortify grassroots football infrastructure, ultimately fostering the overall advancement of football in the nation.
