Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has encouraged clubs in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to leverage new media platforms, particularly YouTube, to bolster their revenue streams.

President Okraku emphasized the importance of clubs investing in content creation and utilizing platforms like YouTube to engage with fans and enhance their financial viability.

In a recent Facebook post, President Okraku shared insights from his research on how GPL clubs are utilizing social media and explored the potential for financial gains through digital engagement.

"Recently, I conducted research to assess how our GPL clubs are leveraging new media platforms," President Okraku stated.

"The results revealed that only seven out of eighteen GPL clubs have active YouTube accounts, with two clubs underutilizing their accounts and nine clubs having no YouTube presence at all."

Expressing concern over the missed opportunities for revenue generation, President Okraku urged clubs to recognize the importance of exploring unconventional avenues for financial sustainability.

"In an era where financial resources are scarce, it's imperative that we capitalize on every available opportunity to generate revenue," he emphasized. "YouTube is a platform that can not only facilitate storytelling but also serve as a source of income to support our clubs' operations."

President Okraku's call aligns with the GFA's mission of fostering passion and prosperity within Ghanaian football clubs.

YouTube, as a powerful social networking tool, holds significant potential for revenue generation if clubs strategically invest in content creation and digital engagement initiatives.
