The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is gearing up to engage FIFA in crucial discussions aimed at addressing concerns surrounding Kwasi Appiah's concurrent positions as Sudan's national team coach and an Executive Council Member of the GFA during the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Appiah, currently at the helm of Sudan's national team, will lead them against Ghana in Group F, alongside Angola and Niger, when the qualifiers commence this September.

Questions have been raised regarding potential conflicts of interest stemming from Appiah's dual responsibilities, highlighting governance issues within the association.

"Henry Asante Twum, Communication Director of the Ghana FA, emphasized that Kwasi Appiah was duly elected into office and has the right to accept any job opportunity that comes his way," stated JoySports.

"This is a matter of governance—what constitutes appropriate conduct. We intend to consult FIFA's governance guidelines on this issue and adhere to their recommendations."

The qualifying matches for the 2025 AFCON are scheduled to commence in September 2024, underscoring the urgency for clarity on Appiah's roles and responsibilities within the footballing landscape.
