Ghana’s ambassador to Algeria, Nana Kwasi Arhin has urged the Black Satellites to defeat their Algerian opponents in Friday’s 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier.

The team arrived in Algiers on Wednesday ahead of the crucial first leg encounter against the young Desert Warriors at Stade 5 Juillet 1962.

The Black Satellites were welcomed by the ambassador who charged the side to triumph.

“I have hosted Aduana Stars and the second contingent is the Under-20 in the six months I have been here and I believe since we are here, we are representing Ghana and nobody else. We should always know that we have a proud country,” the top official said.

“I’m talking to the players now. We don’t have any other option apart from success. The other option is failure and nobody wants failure so I urge you guys to win.”

Nana Kwasi Arhin told the players he has already spoken highly of them to his colleague ambassadors and he expects no disappointments on Friday.

“I wouldn’t want to be the source of mockery among my colleagues who I have told i am going to win. Today, I was at a reception and they were all asking me, has your team arrived? I said yes. Are you going to win? I said yes.”

Winner of the two-legged tie  will face either Gambia or Benin in the third round of the qualifiers for a place in the 2019 African Youth Championship to be staged in Niger next year.
