Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will be looking to prove his doubters wrong in the friendly against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium today.

The Black Stars come up against the Porcupine Warriors following the cancelation of their AFCON 2019 qualifier with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone by FIFA.

The Kayserispor forward who missed the opening two Group H qualifiers, is determined to silence is critics as he returns to skipper the side.

A section of football pundits questioned the inclusion of Ghana’s leading all-time scorer due to his lack of game time at club level, however Gyan insists he is not bothered about what is written about him in the media.

“We cannot use talk to prove my fitness. It's only when the game comes on that you can use it to say whether I am fit or not. You criticize not a lot of people, I don’t have anything to prove,"

The high-profile friendly which kicks off at 4pm is expected to attract massive crowd as supporters remain anxiously curious to see how the Ghana Premier League giants will fare against the national team.
