Ghana's national team coach, Chris Hughton, was present at the Stade Gabriel Montpied to observe the performance of Grejohn Kyei, a French-born striker who has expressed his intention to play for the Black Stars.

During his visit, Hughton also took the opportunity to closely assess Alidu Seidu, who is a teammate of Kyei at Clermont Foot.

Seidu has established himself as a consistent presence for the Black Stars, particularly following his impressive performances during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The seasoned former Premier League manager attended the season opener in the French Ligue 1 clash between Clermont Foot and AS Monaco, indicating his keen interest in monitoring the Ghanaian talents.

While Alidu Seidu completed the entire duration of the match, his compatriot Grejohn Kyei was on the field for 76 minutes. Unfortunately, Clermont Foot faced a 4-2 defeat on their home turf against Monaco.

Clermont Foot initially took the lead through Mateusz Wieteska, finding the net within the opening seven minutes of the match. However, Monaco's Vanderson leveled the score in the 26th minute.

French international Wissam Ben Yedder extended Monaco's advantage before the half-hour mark, setting the stage for a challenging contest.

Clermont Foot displayed resilience and managed to restore parity in the 53rd minute, with Muhammed-Cham Saracevic scoring the equalizer after an assist by Ghana's Alidu Seidu.

Despite Clermont's efforts, Wissam Ben Yedder's second goal in the 70th minute put Monaco back in the lead, ultimately contributing to their victory.

Maghnes Akliouche's stoppage-time goal sealed the 4-2 victory for Monaco at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.

Hughton's presence at the match underscores his commitment to scouting and nurturing Ghanaian talent for the national team's success.
