Ghanaian national team coach Otto Addo is bracing for tough tests in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers from group opponent Angola.

The Black Stars have been drawn into Group F, where they will face Angola, Sudan, and Niger, following the draw on Thursday.

As the four teams vie for a spot in the 35th edition of Africa's premier football tournament, Addo remains optimistic about Ghana's prospects.

He acknowledges the strength of their opponents and believes in the quality of the Black Stars to advance from the group.

Discussing Angola, Addo remarked:

"Surely, we believe in ourselves to qualify from this group. But it’s going to be tough. To begin with Angola, I think they have a very, very good squad.

I think they had a good AFCON but went out after losing 1-0 to Nigeria; they did really, really well in that match, I watched it.

They are actually doing good right now leading their group in the COSAFA Cup and qualifying for the next round.

Also in the World Cup qualification games, they did quite well, they drew against Cameroon in their last game so they have a strong squad and we can’t take it easy.

It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be close but like I said, I have strong belief that we can succeed against them."

The qualifiers will test the Black Stars' resilience and capability as they seek to end a 42-year AFCON title drought.

With Addo's tactical acumen and the team's determination, Ghana hopes to secure their place in the tournament set to take place in Morocco in late December 2025 and January 2026.
