Coach of  Black Stars, C.K Akonnor has revealed that Ghana has initiated talks to get English born Ghanaian Eddie Nketiah to play for Ghana.

The 21 year old striker was born in Lewisham, England to Ghanaian parent but currently plays for the English U-21 side.

After an unsuccessful loan spell at eventual winners of the Championship Leeds United, Nketiah cut short his loan spell to return to his mother club Arsenal where he was preferred by manager Mikel Arteta to Alexandre Lacazette.

Coach of the Black Stars C.K Akonnor has revealed that Ghana has initiated talks with the player's parents.

"We've been able to talk to Eddie Nketiah's parents. But even though we've tried, it doesn't mean it's a done deal," Ghana coach CK Akonnor has told Starr FM.

"Myself and the Ghana Football Association are working hard at it."

Talks about a potential international senior future with Ghana heightened when the nation's Football Association (GFA) sent out a congratulatory message to the striker on social media following Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea earlier this month.

The Black Stars are also making similar approaches for Brighton and Hove Albion full-back Tariq Lamptey, Ajax striker Brian Brobbey and the Anderlecht duo of Jeremy Doku and Francis Amuzu.
