Ghana have been drawn against Morocco, Comoros and Gabon at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations tournament in a tricky contest in Group C of the tournament to be played in Cameroon.

Head coach of the Black Stars, C.K Akonnor admits that Ghana has been drawn in a very difficult group with the Atlas Lions of Morocco are very tough opponent.

“Our group is very hard and I am very happy the Ghana FA arranged that friendly against Morocco.

“If we have the chance of meeting Morocco again things will be different. They are the strongest among our group” he made this known at a zoom conference on Friday.

At a star-studded ceremony in Yaounde on Tuesday, the four time Champions were drawn against the North African giants and the two East Africans.

Host Cameroon will face Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Cape Verde in Group A with defending Champion Algeria clash in Group E with  Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Cote D’Ivoire.

The tournament, which features 24 teams and runs from 9 January to 6 February, will see the winners and runners-up in each of the six groups, plus the best four third-placed teams, reach the knockout phase.

The 33rd edition of Africa’s football showpiece will begin with hosts Cameroon testing their strength against Burkina Faso.

The team will be based in Yaoundé for their first two games against Morocco and Gabon before traveling to Garoua for the final game.
