Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan, has emphasized the significant impact of Thomas Partey's absence on the Black Stars, noting the void left by the Arsenal star's injuries.

Partey, a key midfielder for both club and country, has faced a challenging season marred by injuries, resulting in his absence from crucial fixtures, including the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Gyan acknowledged Partey's exceptional talent, describing him as a generational player whose presence significantly elevates the team's performance.

"It’s unfortunate that we miss a player like Thomas Partey. He is a generational talent. This year the injuries have slowed him down a little. You can’t blame him for that," Gyan expressed in an interview with Asempa FM.

Despite Partey's recent injury setbacks, Gyan remains confident in the midfielder's abilities, recognizing that his recovery process may require patience and understanding from fans and critics alike.

"Even when he comes back it’ll take time for him to get back to his normal level. Sometimes when people criticize a player coming back from injury it’s unfair," Gyan cautioned, urging Ghanaians to support Partey as he works his way back to full fitness and form.

As Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer, Gyan's insights shed light on the importance of having key players like Partey available for the national team's success, underscoring the need for patience and encouragement during his rehabilitation journey.
