Lawmaker and minister of youth and sports Hon Isaac Kwame Asiamah took part in a service to mark the 17th anniversary of the may 9 Disaster at the Accra sports stadium.

This is the Biggest Football Disaster in Africa, which happened between Ghana's two most glamorous clubs Hearts and Kotoko at the nation's Wembley, Accra sports stadium with 127 persons died on that black Wednesday in 2001.

There were also representatives from Accra Hearts of oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko whose fans were victims of the black Wednesday disaster.

As part of the memorial, a minute's silence was held for the departed souls at the may 9th stand.

Seventeen years on, never again should this happen.

Lawrence Adjei had the opener for the Porcupines warriors before Ismael Addo equalised for the Phobians and added the second goal that brought the mahyem.

May the gone souls Rest In Perfect Peace.
