President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that Ghana is on course to complete its International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme by April 2026, citing notable improvements in key economic indicators.

Speaking at the Ghana–Zambia Business Dialogue in Lusaka on Friday, February 6, President Mahama highlighted easing inflation, strengthened foreign reserves, and renewed investor confidence following recent fiscal reforms.

He stressed that the stabilising economy positions Ghana to expand trade and investment, particularly under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“These gains provide a solid foundation for Ghana’s development agenda, which focuses on five strategic pillars: industrialisation and value addition; export-led growth; modern infrastructure development; strong support for MSMEs, women, and youth entrepreneurs; and a predictable, transparent, investor-friendly business environment,” President Mahama said.
