Vice President Dr Mahmoud Bawumia on Tuesday witnessed the signing of an agreement signalling the establishment of the Ghana Country Office of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), in Accra, the first in West Africa.

Dr Bawumia also launched and announced the establishment of the office in a ceremony at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

An affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), the World Business Angels Investment Forum is committed to collaborating globally to empowering the economic development of the world.

Speaking at the event, the vice President emphasized that his government is keen on making Ghana the  preferred destination for investors.

"As a government, we are delighted that our commitment to make Ghana the preferred investment destination for investment is beginning to yield positive fruits," he said.

"The Ghanaian entrepreneurial spirit is not in doubt, and the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government will continue to implement policies to create an investor-friendly environment for business start-ups and facilitate scale-ups."

He said Ghana is now the most entrepreneurial country in sub-saharan Africa, urging Ghanaians to embrace the available opportunities in the country.

"Our ultimate goal is to be the most business friendly economy in West Africa," he said.

"We have made significant strides in the socioeconomic development of this country."
