Ghanaian starlets Prince Amoako Junior and Caleb Yirenkyi have been recognised among the world’s most promising U20 players, according to the latest rankings released by the CIES Football Observatory.
The pair, both on the books of Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland, were listed among the top-performing youngsters globally in their positions across Europe’s non-big five leagues.
-
Prince Amoako Junior (18) — ranked 4th among forwards, after scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in his first seven appearances of the season.
-
Caleb Yirenkyi (19) — also ranked 4th among midfielders, following a breakout start that included 1 goal, 2 assists, and a senior Black Stars debut.
Both graduates of Ghana’s famed Right to Dream Academy, the teenagers have transitioned seamlessly into senior football, quickly becoming key players for Nordsjaelland.
Their strong early-season form has not gone unnoticed, with both Amoako and Yirenkyi nominated for the Danish Superliga Young Player of the Month award for August. They will compete against compatriot Bismarck Edjeodji (Vejle BK), as well as Thomas Jorgensen (Viborg), Clement Bischoff (ex-Brøndby, now Salzburg), and Hjalte Bidstrup (Viborg).
The recognition from CIES underlines the growing influence of Ghanaian youth footballers in Europe, particularly through the Right to Dream–Nordsjaelland talent pathway, which continues to produce players making waves at the highest level.
