The Club Licensing Manager of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Julius Ben Emunah says that his outfit must submit home venue to CAF for use by the Black Stars latest by April 25, 2022 ahead of the upcoming 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The Black Stars have been paired in group E alongside Angola, Madagascar and Central African Republic.

According to Emunah, the Ghana FA is considering submitting to CAF the Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Sports Stadium to be approved as Ghana's home venue.

"We are going to submit  Cape Coast Sports Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium to CAF by April 25, 2022 which is the deadline", he told Asempa FM.

CAF has removed the Baba Yara Sports Stadium from hosting international matches or category A games, the Ghana Football Association has announced.

The stadium was given a one-match approval to host the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria last month.

In a letter signed by CAF Development Officer Raul Chipenda and addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football, Association Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq. the venue has been removed from the list of approved venues for international matches by CAF.

Ghana is likely to play their home matches for the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers when it starts in June as the Baba Yara Stadium has been rejected by CAF.

The Accra Sports Stadium will also not meet the standards as the venue is undergoing renovation and repair works.

The Cape Coast Sports Stadium hosted the qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Match Days 1 and 2 are scheduled for May 30-June14, 2022, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Two qualifying matches will be played between May and June, with Match Days 3 and 4 scheduled for September 19–27, 2022.

The final round of matches has been scheduled for March 20-28, 2023.

The top two teams from each Group, including hosts Ivory Coast, will compete in the biennial tournament, which will take place from June 23 to July 23, 2023.
