President of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Kurt E.S  Okraku says that his outfit will maintain the technical team that qualified Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He has also debunked  reports claiming that he has a scheduled meeting with erstwhile technical advisor of the Black Stars Chris Hughton.

"Rumour mongering is becoming the order of the day in football...Just to be clear, I do not have a scheduled meeting with Chris Hughton," Okraku wrote.

"The FA, having assessed the work of the technical team of the Black Stars, and having engaged all relevant stakeholders, is working to keep Otto [Addo], Didi [Dramani], George [Boatentg] and Chris [Hughton] in their respective roles for all immediate assignments."

He added, "Official announcement expected shortly...Other need areas of the technical team that the coach has identified is being addressed."

After Ghana's dismal showing at the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon, Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac was shown the exit with Otto Addo being made the coach whiles George Boateng and Masaud Didi Dramani were made assistant coaches.

Whiles Irishman with Ghanaian father Chris Hughton was made a technical advisor to the Otto Addo lead technical team.

The new look technical team masterminded qualification over fierce rivals Nigeria in a two legged play off game.

Their contract ended after securing qualification to the World Cup against Nigeria but the GFA is keen to continue with the same team and are in talks to quickly wrap up negotiations with the German club as qualifies for the 2023 AFCON will begin in  June.
