Ghana will be without Ajax midfielder Kudus Mohammed in September's two World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia.

The midfielder has been injured since preseason and is yet to play for the Dutch champions all season.

He has been ruled out of action for about three weeks and will not play a part in Ghana's two matches in September.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's league match against Vitesse Arnhem, Ten Hag disclosed that Kudus will not be in the squad for Sunday's game against Vitesse and added that it may be another three weeks before he is fully fit again.

Ajax Amsterdam revealed that their Ghanaian midfielder Kudus Mohammed suffered an ankle injury reasons why he did not play in their preseason friendly match against German giants Bayern Munich.

Since then the player has not played for the Dutch champions including missing out on the Dutch Super Cup defeat to PSV and the Eredivisie win against NEC and the 1-1 draw against FC Twente.

He had been training on his own in order to get fit in time for the coming season which starts this weekend but it appears he is not close to a return.

The Ghanaian youngster was expected to be fit in time for the season but that will not be the case.

He has been a shinning light for the Black Stars as he scored in Ghana's 1-1 drawn game against South Africa which earned Ghana qualification to the AFCON tournament.

Kudus had a frustrating first season as he was affected by niggling injuries and he would hope to have a clean bill of health this campaign.

The Black Stars Ghana will host Group G opponents Ethiopia on Friday, September 3 in Cape Coast, before playing South Africa on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Johannesburg respectively.
