Two Ghanaian players Alidu Seidu and Salis Abdul Samed have helped their lower tier French side Clermont Foot secure promotion to the elite division in France.

Clermont Foot finished second after the season ended on Sunday despite losing 2-1 to Caen away from home.

Next season Clermont Foot will be playing in French Ligue1 for the first time after finishing second behind Troyes during the season getting 72 points from 38 matches.

The two Ghanaian players came off the bench on Sunday as their side lost 2-1 to Caen.

21 year old Alidu Seidu played a key role as his side clinched promotion by playing 22 games while his compatriot Samed Salis made only six appearances.
