Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Samed Salis has agreed to extend his contract with French Ligue 1 side RC Lens, securing his stay at the club until 2028.

The 23-year-old joined Lens last summer from Clermont Foot on a three-year deal and enjoyed a successful debut season with the club.

Following his impressive performances, the club's management has decided to extend Salis' contract for an additional year, recognizing his contributions to the team's qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

During the previous campaign, the Ghana international made 33 appearances in Ligue 1 and found the back of the net on one occasion.

"We are starting this summer transfer window with the extension of a key player in the collective, in terms of performance and state of mind, Salis Abdul Samed. More than his emergence at a very high level, more than his conclusive World Cup with Ghana, more than his regularity, he is the embodiment of the joy of this group of which he is one of the leaders in commitment and character, festive," stated Arnaud Pouille, the General Manager of RC Lens.

Pouille further emphasized the significance of extending Salis' contract, highlighting the player's role in maintaining team cohesion and continuity.

He expressed his congratulations to Salis and expressed excitement about seeing him compete in continental games in the future.

With his contract extension, Salis aims to continue his positive impact on the team and contribute to RC Lens' success in the upcoming season.
