Ghanaian center-forward Felix Afena-Gyan has undergone a successful surgical procedure to address a fracture in his left foot's fifth metatarsal.

The operation, performed by Professor Francesco Benazzo at the Poliavventura Foundation of Brescia, has been described as a "perfect success" by his club, US Cremonese.

Diego Giuliani, the head of the medical team at US Cremonese, was present during the surgery. Following the operation, Afena-Gyan is set to embark on a physiotherapy program aimed at facilitating his recovery and eventual return to the football field.

The 20-year-old striker, who previously played for AS Roma, has already made two appearances in the ongoing Serie B 23/24 league campaign for US Cremonese.

Additionally, Afena-Gyan has earned seven caps with the Ghanaian men's senior national team, the Black Stars, and has scored one goal during his international career.
