In a momentous stride for Ghana Football, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence witnessed a historic event with the installation and commissioning of its first set of ultramodern floodlights.

The ceremony, held on the evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2024, marked a significant milestone as Kurt E. S. Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), received the keys to the power plant and ceremonially activated the floodlights.

Funded under the FIFA Forward Program, the installation was carried out by OVI Enschede, a renowned Dutch electrical installations firm.

The expertise of the Installation Technicians guided President Okraku and his team through the operation of the floodlights, illuminating the Astro turf at Prampram in a spectacular display.

Expressing his gratitude to FIFA for their unwavering support, President Okraku underscored the trust and confidence FIFA has bestowed upon the GFA.

He highlighted the transformative impact of the floodlights, enabling training programs and activities to extend into the evening hours.

"The installation of this first set of floodlights means that training programs at the Centre can be held both during the day and at night," President Okraku stated, emphasizing the enhanced capacity and flexibility the floodlights bring to the facility.

Looking ahead, President Okraku outlined plans for further developments, including the construction of a 40-bed accommodation facility for national teams and the completion of a new Astro turf supported by BetPawa.

These initiatives align with the vision to elevate the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence to a world-class facility befitting Ghana's rich footballing heritage.

Under the luminance of the newly installed floodlights, National U-17 players engaged in a training session, providing a glimpse of the facility's expanded capabilities.

President Okraku, accompanied by key GFA officials, shared words of encouragement with the players, reinforcing the commitment to excellence in Ghana Football.

With this transformative milestone, Ghana Football enters a new era of growth and development, propelled by the collective efforts of the GFA and its partners.
