The Tarkwa and Aboaso Park will have a lot to complain about when two of the heftiest 'elephants' in the Ghana Premier League, Medeama SC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko engage trunks at the venue on Sunday as both sides go into the game with famishing hunger for the maximum three points reward.

MEDEAMA SC PERSPECTIVE

Medeama SC's aspirations of overtaking both Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will be aggressively challenged by the Kumasi side who also need the three points in order to revamp their league title hopes.

Medeama moved to fifth place on the log after drawing 2:2 with Secondi Hasaacas on Wednesday and stands the chance of moving further to third place.

A win against the Porcupines will do justice to that hope.

The Tarkwa based club will however have to fight the battle with Assistant coach Ben Owu after head coach Prince Owusu resigned from his post last week.

They have won just three of their last nine matches in the league but have lost just twice at home this season.

The joy for Medeama SC will be the fact that Kotoko have recorded only one victory in their last seven away games but will have to blister their palms to capitalise the latter's poor away form as their past proves they are unlikely to do so after beating Kotoko only once at home in the league in their last eight meetings at the venue.

Medeama SC have kept seven clean sheets at home this season.

ASANTE KOTOKO PERSPECTIVE

Asante Kotoko are also positioned third on the league table and have three points serving as a barricade between them and the apex of the pyramid.

They look forward to grabbing the maximum giveaway as any form of generosity towards home team, Medeama SC will dwindle a possible title win.

The return of centre back, Ahmed Adams who has been out injured for over a month gives Kotoko a major boost even though they will be missing midfield enforcer Stephen Nyarko who is away facilitating a move to Tunisian top tier side Club Africain.

Asante Kotoko have lost two of their last ten premier league games, drawing in their last three.

They have managed to keep four clean sheets away from Kumasi this season so far.

Head to Head

Total matches played = 18

Medeama SC wins = 2

Drawn matches = 6

Asante Kotoko wins = 10
