Ghanaian winger Gideon Mensah scored his first ever goal for his Swedish side Varbergs BoIS in their 2-1 win against Degerfors on Sunday afternoon at the Varberg Energi Arena.

The 21 year old winger has had his start for his side delayed for several years due to injury concerns.

The Ghanaian winger got the ball out at the right side and pulled with what at first glance seemed to be have hit the post but the ball found its way into the net.

In the half-time interview, Mensah dedicated the goal to the city of Varberg and the club's fans.

"It is my first goal as a professional player. It is for the fans and the community and the people who helped me in Varberg. I am so grateful for the city and those who supported me," he says in Discovery plus.

The match ended 2-1 to Varberg after Diego Campos equalized for Degerfors in the second half but Albin Winbo decided the match with a free kick in the 93rd minute.
