Ghanaian International left back Gideon Mensah has snubbed a move to Scottish champions Celtic in favour of a move to Belgium side Zulte Waregem.

The 21 year old Ghanaian had overtures from Celtic but chose to head to Belgium on loan where he thinks can get the opportunity to develop his game.

Mensah who recently penned a four year deal with Red Bull Salzburg has featured for  Sturm Graz and Liefering the second team of RB Salzburg.

After joining the Belgian side Mensah admitted that he snubbed overtures from certain teams before moving to Belgium where he thinks nurtures and provides opportunities for young players.

“I'm happy to be here. This competition has a higher reputation than the Austrian Bundesliga and attracts many young talented players. At this age I mainly have to play to develop myself. There were other options but this club gave me the best feeling.

Speaking with the official club website, Mensah oulined hid key attributes as a left full back stressing that he is fast an the ball and explosive on counter attacks.

 "I'm fast on the ball, explosive on the counterattack are my main assets," concludes Mensah.
