The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has thrown weight behind the upcoming Green Ghana Project,  urging the media to prioritize the initiative.

The project which commences on Friday June 11 is an initiative to plant five million trees in a day across the country.
In a statement issued by the Association, signed by its President, Mr. Roland Affail Monney suggested to the Ghanaian media to take active part in the event by saturating their airwaves, Newspapers and online portals with programmes, exciting stories and researched features.

“The GJA expects all media owners, CEOs, editors, and practitioners not only to promote the exercise but also to take an active part to green their media houses and communities”.

The exercise would commence with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, and the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah, planting trees.
