There was sight of Hearts of Oak's new signing Gladson Awako who has generated a lot of news evening without kicking a ball for the phobians.

In the last few weeks, a lot has been said about the former Great Olympics midfielder about his decision to play for Hearts  but all has been denied by the club and the player.

Last month, the club announced that the player had some personal issues to sort out and he well return when he is done but till now he is yet to report to the Hearts training grounds.

Hearts of Oak on Monday continued with their preparation for the second qualifying round of the  CAF Champions League against Wydad Casablanca with workout at the beach but there was no sign of Awako.

The player was said to have been ill and even released videos on social media doing his personal training but is yet to join his teammates if he ever will.

He slammed the media for peddling falsehood in their reportage of his absence from the Hearts of Oak training camp swathing aside claims that he was not ready to play for Hearts weeks after joining in a high profile move from Great Olympics.

The phobians are said to have paid Great Olympics $15,000 as some solidarity payment for the player whose contract was due to expire in October this year.

Gladson Awako was outstanding in the 2020/21 season despite facing lots of doubts prior to the start and went on to contribute 13 goals for his club in the league, scoring 6 and providing 7 assists.

The phobians after beating CI Kamsar will play Wydad in Accra on October 17 with the return leg on October 23 in Casablanca.
