Head coach Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has all but confirmed the imminent transfer of Great Olympics playmaker Gladson Awako to Hearts of Oak.

The phobians are keen to fortify their squad for the upcoming CAF Champions League next season as they hope to make a mark in the competition.

Hearts have wrapped up deals for WAFA duo of  Enock Esubonteng and Konadu Yiadom and will in the coming days further bolster their ranks with the acquisition of Awako.

Samuel Boadu who guided the club to a historic double despite joining them during the second round has confirmed in an interview with Kumasi based Silver FM that the former TP Mazembe man will play for Hearts of Oak next season.

According to the young trainer, he recommended the signing of the Great Olympics talisman to the club's board of directors.

Great Olympics captain Gladson Awako has reportedly will sign a two year deal with Ghana Premier League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak after having his medical exams on Thursday.

"Yes, it is true that Gladson Awako will be part of Hearts of Oak squad next season. I recommended him to the Hearts of Oak management and Board of directors," Boadu told Silver FM

"He is a very good with enormous qualities which will help us in our next season's campaign."

The former Ghana U-20 star returned home after a stints in DR Congo with TP Mazember and Don Bosco while he also played for USL side Phoenix Rising among others.

Gladson Awako was outstanding in the 2020/21 season despite facing lots of doubts prior to the start and went on to contribute 13 goals for his club in the league, scoring 6 and providing 7 assists.
