NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google has started rolling out the same material design for its Gmail app which the company introduced for the web version in April last year. The new design will be available for both Android and iOS users of Gmail. The company has announced that starting today a new update will be rolling out on the Gmail mobile app which will bring new Material Theme and some important features.

In an official post the company said, "Today, we’re kicking off the year with a new look for Gmail on mobile, too. As part of the new design, you can quickly view attachments—like photos—without opening or scrolling through the conversation. It’s also easier to switch between personal and work accounts, so you can access all of your emails without breaking a sweat. And just like on the web, you’ll get big, red warnings to alert you when something looks phish-y."

The new design will offer a cleaner and bright UI to Gmail and the company has also incorporated some new features such as ability to quickly access attachments and also allowing the Gmail users to write emails with the help of machine learning technology and the Smart Compose feature.

Along with this, the Gmail app users will also be able to reply to messages quickly with the help of the Smart Reply feature. This feature uses machine learning and propose three appropriate answers to messages that seek response. As soon as the user press on the Smart Reply it will then be posted as the answer.

Recently, Google announced that it will soon roll out some new features to Gmail. The company claims that the new features will help users in editing and correcting their mistakes at the time of composing an email.
