The owner and life patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has called on the club to bring to him the African Cup.

Asante Kotoko lifted the Ghana Premier League title on Sunday after beating Elmina Sharks in the penultimate game of the season.

Players and officials of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday paid a visit to the owner and life patron of the club, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.

Kotoko won the league title for the 25th time when they drew 1-1 with Ashantigold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in an outstanding league game.

On Sunday 12th June, 2022, Asante Kotoko handed a heavy 3-0 defeat to relegated Elmina Sharks in their Ghana Premier League match day 33 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday evening.

Addressing the team, the Life Patron of the club congratulated the playing body on their title winning feat this season and has therefore charged the team to make effort to win an Africa title.

“I congratulate you for winning the league title, now, you are going to Africa, I will urge you, the CEO, coach and the  players to win Africa because it’s been a while we laid hands on the title"

“As a team, you need to remain united to be able to succeed” he said.
