Ghanaian forward Godberg Barry Cooper made an impactful debut for his new club FK Tobol Kostanay in the Kazakhstani Premier League, netting his first goal during Wednesday afternoon's match.

Tobol demonstrated resilience as they came from behind to secure a convincing 4-2 victory over Yelimay Semay at the Centranyl Stadion in Kostanay on matchday two of the new campaign.

Cooper, who recently joined Tobol from Romanian side UTA Arad, sealed his move on the final day of the Kazakhstani transfer window, adding depth to Tobol's attacking lineup.

Former Cameroon international Robert Tambe opened the scoring for Yelimay in the 2nd minute, but Tobol responded strongly with two goals from Igor Ivanovic and Yevgeniy Shakhov in the 26th and 30th minutes, respectively, turning the tide before halftime.

Yelimay Semay managed to level the scoreline early in the second half through a penalty kick converted by Brazilian attacker China dos Santos.

However, Tobol's resilience shone through as Cooper restored the advantage for his side in the 72nd minute.

The Italian-born Ghanaian's goal proved crucial as Erkin Tapalov sealed the win for Tobol in stoppage time, securing three points for the team.

Cooper's goal marks a promising start to his career at Tobol, having already been involved in the club's victory in the Kazakhstani Super Cup the previous week.

His contribution adds firepower to Tobol's attacking prowess as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
