Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Godfried Frimpong is set to part ways with Portuguese side Moreirense at the end of this month, following the expiration of his contract.

The 25-year-old will become a free agent after four solid seasons with the club.

Frimpong made 108 appearances for Moreirense, contributing 2 goals and 12 assists.

Known for his pace and attacking instincts from the left flank, he has been a reliable presence in the side since his arrival in July 2021.

Born in The Hague, Netherlands, to Ghanaian parents, Frimpong began his football journey with Sparta Rotterdam’s youth academy before moving to Portuguese giants Benfica in 2016.

Although he did not break into the senior team at Benfica, he developed through their youth ranks before securing a move to Moreirense.

Internationally, Frimpong has represented the Netherlands at U-16 and U-18 levels but remains eligible to play for Ghana at senior level.

As he prepares for the next chapter of his career, Frimpong is expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe, thanks to his experience and versatility at left-back.
