Communication Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has taken a swipe at fierce rivals Asante Kotoko following their scheduled pre-season training tour of Turkey.

He says that traveling outside Ghana is no guarantee that a team will win the Ghana Premier League title.

The porcupine warriors will travel to Turkey and will be there for 15 days as the training tour will start on 15th August and will end on 30th August 2022.

It will help the club be in shape for the CAF Champions League preliminary stage and the upcoming 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League season.

Asante Kotoko at the end of last season traveled to the United Arab Emirates(UAE) for their training tour and won the Ghana Premier League at a canter and will be hoping to repeat the dose this term.

MTN FA Cup winners Hearts started their pre-season training on Tuesday and may move to to Cape Coast to continue their preparations, unlike their rivals who will travel to Turkey.

The Hearts spokesperson revealed in an interview with Asempa FM, that his side will not travel abroad for pre-season just because Kotoko is doing so.

“Hearts of Oak will decide where to have pre-season. We don’t look at an opponent to do what we do," he said on Asempa FM.

"Two seasons ago we had preseason in Ghana but won the league so soon we will make a decision whether to move out or not.

“Manchester United move out of England for pre-season but they haven’t won anything in a while. All that matters is finding a serene environment. Going out of the country isn’t a guarantee that you’ll win the league," he added.
