Mr Tanoh who launched his campaign on Wednesday October 10, 2018 called on party supporters to rally behind him to re-organise the NDC to restore voluntarism, decision-making, integrity and transparency.
At Anloga, Mr Tanoh, accompanied by some polling station and constituency executives, paid a courtesy call on the Awoemefia of the Anlo state.

Mr Tanoh is one of 12 aspirants hoping to become the next flag bearer of the NDC going into the 2020 elections.

On 30 August 2018, he formally announced his decision to contest the slot when he presented his letter of intent to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Ghanaians, he said, have a choice to continue with bad governance or choose him to spark a change.

Goosie who is a known face within the NDC fraternity broke away from party in 1998 when former President JJ Rawlings chose the late Atta Mills to lead the party in the 2000 elections, but has rejoin in the hope to win power from the ruling New Patriotic Party in 2020.

He is vying for the vacant flagbearer position of the NDC to contest for the presidency in the 2020 elections.
