Gor Mahia have confirmed that Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morrison sustained a calf injury after being involved in a road accident on his way to training.

Medical Update

  • The club stressed that the 25-year-old escaped serious harm.

  • Morrison was discharged from hospital and is able to walk without difficulty.

  • He will undergo medical follow-ups before returning to full training.

In its official statement on Facebook, Gor Mahia noted:

“Midfielder Enock Morrison sustained a calf injury in an accident en route to training; the medical update is positive – no fractures, he is able to walk and has been discharged. Wishing him a speedy recovery.”

Derby Preparations

The incident comes as Gor Mahia intensify preparations for the Mashemeji Derby against rivals AFC Leopards, one of the most anticipated fixtures in Kenyan football.

  • Morrison’s availability remains uncertain, with no official return date confirmed.

  • The club remains hopeful he will recover in time for the crucial clash.
Safety Concerns

This is the second road accident involving Gor Mahia players in recent weeks:

  • On November 29, four players — including Austine Odhiambo and Fidel Origa — were involved in a similar incident.

  • All received treatment for minor injuries and were discharged the same day.

  • The repeated incidents have raised concerns over player safety during travel.

Morrison’s injury is a setback for Gor Mahia, but the positive medical update offers relief as the champions prepare for one of the season’s defining matches.
