Government has officially declared Monday 7 January 2019 a Statutory public holiday.
A statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery (MP) on Thursaday, December 27, 2018, reminded the public to observe the day as it has been declared as “Constitution Day”.
Government recently tabled a bill in parliament seeking to amend the public holiday act.
This declaration, therefore, makes January 7, 2019, the first of many Constitution Day holidays to come.
