The Editor of pro-NDC newspaper, the Informer, Andy Kankam says government is deliberately “joking” with the minds of Ghanaians over the arrest of the Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1.

He told NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that, the ‘most wanted’ man in Ghana now was never arrested in Dubai as claimed.

“They [government] are just playing with our minds; government is not being truthful to the people. He [NAM1] was never arrest. The man is going around doing his business,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

In a statement jointly signed by the Police and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Nana Appiah Mensah is facing charges of misdemeanor in the United Arab Emirates [UAE].

According to the statement, NAM 1 would be made available to authorities in Ghana pending the outcome of the case in Dubai.

The statement went to indicate that the embattled CEO has cooperated with authorities that went to visit him in Dubai and has given them an extensive statement to assist in their investigations into the Menzgold saga for the requisite action to be taken.

But all these according to Andy Kamkam is cooked up stories to deceive Ghanaians – “it is time government tell us the truth”.

“We have spotted NAM 1 at Jumeirah Hotelin Dubai,” he claimed.
