The Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, on Monday, July 7, 2025, led a site inspection of ongoing rehabilitation works on three major road corridors within the Tema Port enclave.
The roads under inspection included the stretch from Mankoadze Roundabout to Harbour Roundabout, the Harbour Roundabout to GHACEM road, and the key access route between Terminal 3 and Terminal 2.
Particular focus was given to the Harbour Roundabout to GHACEM road—a crucial route for heavy-duty vehicles transporting cargo. Rehabilitation work on this corridor is aimed at easing congestion, improving safety, and ensuring the seamless movement of goods.
A major highlight of the inspection was the visit to the under-construction access road linking Terminal 3 to Terminal 2. Once completed, this strategic link is expected to significantly reduce transit time between the terminals and streamline container transfers within the port.
The Director-General also visited the breakwater construction site at Terminal 2 and expressed satisfaction with the pace of progress across all sites. He encouraged the contractors to stay on schedule and deliver quality work on time.
Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono reaffirmed GPHA’s commitment to strengthening port infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of modern, efficient facilities to support Ghana’s expanding maritime trade sector.
These projects are part of a broader infrastructure enhancement initiative aimed at improving accessibility to Tema Port, alleviating congestion, and enhancing operational efficiency for port users.
